2025 Kansas Snow Storm Thoughts

As a caretaker of farm animals living in Kansas..

Summer Bodies really are made in the Winter.

The last week has been a test of strength & stamina taking on Mother Nature. We are blessed to live where we have 4 seasons… and know if we give it some time the weather will change.
A few lesson’s learned:
❄️ 4 wheel drive vehicles are NOT optional
❄️ Keep a shovel with you. 4 wheel drive helps but still gets stuck.
❄️ Don’t expect animals (or people) to go into snow deeper than their hips.
❄️ Hot water is not optional.
❄️ Salt Water in a Milk Jug does NO GOOD in sub zero temps.
❄️ When there is a thick layer of ice underneath, walking in snow is a better option, than completely cleared away snow.
❄️ Guineas take time to adjust going in, once they do they are not too proud to cozy up with the farm cats & baby goats!
❄️ After a few day’s the path’s develop and get wider daily.
❄️ Hydrate with electrolytes. (So thankful I keep a back stock of Hydrate+)
There’s no mistakes in Life… only lesson’s and those lessons will be repeated until they are learned.
P.S. Summer bodies really are made in the winter😉🧊🏋🏽‍♀️❄️
